The CMS (Cable Management System) package is an integrated network and asset management program. It will enable the user to track network connections down to a fiber and port level. CMS supplies a cutting-edge graphical interface to allow the user to select components on a representation of the ship to:

• generate reports.
• add and delete cables, devices, and connector boxes.
• obtain detail information on any cable, device, or connector box and change certain properties.
• make change to the connections.
• create, delete, and trace and-to-end paths between two components.

The CMS supplies its own security control method that requires each user to be given a password that is associated with an access level. There are currently three access levels:

• Maintenance (view only mode)
• Integrator (all access with the exception of the user data)
• System Administrator (all access)

CMS also includes extensive online help that allows the user to bring up manual pages for any button or dialog that CMS provides. The manual pages are linked to a glossary so that the user may click on any terms that need further explanation.
