IV. Obtain Component Info
Currently, there are six types of reports that you can generate. You can obtain summaries of the FOICB, trunks, cables, equipment and get expanded summaries of the FOICB and trunks. To compile a report, select Report from the menu bar and choose the type of summary you would like to produce as shown below:
With some of the reports, the screen prompts will ask you to select the component from Viewport. CMS will compile a report on whatever component you select and display it in the CMS report dialog. You have the capability to edit the contents by typing in the text area. In addition, you can either print the reports or save them in ASCII (plain text) format.
Overview of Reports
FOICB SUMMARY: gives you a summary of the port usage.
DETAILED FOICB SUMMARY: presents a port breakdown.
TRUNK SUMMARY: offers a summary of the fiber usage.
DETAILED TRUNK SUMMARY: provides detailed attributes of each cable and fiber in the trunk.
CABLE SUMMARY: displays a usage breakdown by cable.
EQUIPMENT REPORT: produces a device listing by system.
