Integrated Network Management System (INMS)
MMCI's flagship product, INMS is designed to automate network management
tasks by vertically integrating network management tasks. It provides the
full spectrum of network administration capabilities by integrating three
software products: CAMS (MMCI), and OpenView (Hewlet-Packard), and
Action Request (Remedy Corp.).
CAMS handles physical network management, network equipment asset accounting,
cable tracking and fault reporting. It is integrated with Oracle RDBMS.
OpenView adds the real-time logical network management and network monitoring
capabilities.
While OpenView is monitoring the network, Remedy's Action Request
system automactically creates trouble tickets as problems are detected.
A unique capability of INMS is that information is shared among the cable/asset
management module, the network node management module, and the electronic
trouble ticketing module. This allows the system administrator to detect
a fault, determine the location of the physical problem, and issue a maintence
request, all from within the same program.
